Welcome! Hello and welcome to the web site of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa West. Thank you for your interest in us. This, our new site, is a work in progress and we encourage you to visit us periodically as we update and expand information. The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa West is one of over 8000 clubs in 70 nations with membership in excess of a quarter of a million people working to serve others. Chartered in September of 1998 the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa West has a membership of over two dozen dedicated volunteers. We are a breakfast club, meeting the first and third Wednesday of each month, 7:15 at Restaurant 1274 located in Macies Best Western Hotel on Carling Avenue across from the Westgate Shopping Centre. As President it has been my pleasure to see our club continue to expand its membership and support so many projects in our community with both human and financial resources. Whether we’re raising funds in the Spring at our Lobsterfest or in the Fall at our Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Evening, whether we’re collecting student supplies through our Kiwanis/Staples School Bus Program or funding the needs of our local schools, whether we’re serving seniors where they live or serving dinners to those less fortunate, whether we’re assisting in programs for the developmentally challenged or sponsoring Kiwanis student KClubs in our high schools, whether we’re helping to rejuvenate a neighbourhood park or contributing to help ensure an entire community is a better place, The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa West is a place where you can help others while enjoying the fun and fellowship of a great bunch of dedicated and likeminded volunteers. We have been tagged as “The Little Club Who Could”. A very apt description. We may not be able to change the whole world, but we can sure help change our little corner of it, one child and one community at a time.
